Too much of this happens these days, but they did in my time too...so maybe not much has changed...

He crept in again at 4am hoping no one
Would hear his soft steps creeping down the hall
He could smell the night on him and he shuddered
At the mixture of booze, sex and stale perfume
He didn’t want her to wake, to see him like this
To know where and how he spent his time
She knew only the person she wanted to know
Saw only the person she hoped he would be
But he crept on, knowing he would never live
Up to her expectations, never be the man
She could be proud of, his tastes were already
Perverted, his life too convoluted, his needs
To intense for this sweet innocent woman to perceive
He was fourteen years old this year and already
He knew his darling mother was in for pain
But until he had to hurt her with the truth
He crept down the hallway once more tonight

This happens all too often even in the wealthiest of families; there's no telling a lie 'cause this is the truth. Well written!

Yes, the youth of today like the youth of the past, and the youth of tomorrow are predestined to test their limits at one point or another in their life. Some may be wilder than others, and some may start sooner than others but all in all in order to find the boundaries they have to look for them.

Epiphany by Gary Stephens

“We’re going to use nine megaton warheads in space and we’re not sure they’re large enough to be effective. Why would you even consider using kiloton-range surface-to-air warheads as back-up?” The answer was succinct. “Because they’re all we have.”

Chronicles of the HEdge by Jeff Ovall

A true page-turner, Jeff Ovall’s futurist work of fiction peers into the history of a world not yet realized, yet ominously closer than most could imagine. A time in which the past has been reborn and humankind, in all its glory and misery, has final
