Please don’t tell me I have no dreams
I have the same desires as any woman
I’ve just learned the truth
The pot of gold at the end of the rainbow
Has been attached by the IRS
And two of the three wishes the genii granted me
Were wasted on those White Castle burgers
And a giant Mountain Dew
I know I’ll probably lose the last one
On something equally silly
And will be none the worse for the loss
There really is no tooth fairy
Santa Claus and the Easter bunny
Are someone else’s idea of a joke
And I’ll live just fine without them
My dreams are more down to earth than that
I know there is no such thing as a free lunch
I just want a few minutes of happiness each day
And a good sleep each night
I want a job that makes me happy
And friends that bring me joy
If Brad Pitt or Johnny Depp never grace my bed
I have just wonderful memories of the guys who did
And that my friend, makes me a wealthy gal
So yeah, I still have dreams
Just like everyone else
But I don’t expect to win the lottery
Just a scratch off now and then
