I wrote this back when i was spending too much time on the internet, sometimes one or two hours a day Haha.TAlk about a reality check!
i have to admit it
i've been bitten by the cyber bug
i spend endless hours lately
fingers poised above the keyboard
waiting for a response
to some nonsense
i shouldn't have even said
anyway
gotta stop and take a real look
at what has become of my
so-called real life
Reality Check
yeah, i'm real flesh and blood
used to have a real
flesh and blood significant other
we spent endless hours
at the oldest pasttime in the world
computers were for work and e-mail
maybe to pay a bill
or book a vacation
then
exit significant other
amid fireworks and drama
enter little miss
'I'm so hurt and depressed'
yep that was me
and here were all the wonderful
cyber men saying
'let me make you feel better'
and I
like a 10 year old in a candy store
ate it all up
Reality check
this is a piece of hardware with
some very nice software attached
it can't take the place of a warm
body
or a beating heart
a good piece of ass, or a heartfelt
hug
or can it

this was originally a serious piece warning not to mistake the internet for real life, but it seemed to pompous upon rereading so i added the last lines as an attempt to lighten up.
