I wish answers to life’s questions
Were easier than they are
No gauges available to plumb the depths
Or slide rules to divine the dimensions
We have to go by feeling, emotion
The trickiest of all concepts, this
The easiest to misconstrue
Rulers and scales of no use in love
No one ever gives us a gram of ecstasy
An ounce of understanding, no easy recipe
For communication
Or intellectual intercourse
We are forced to stumble blindly
Feeling our way along as we go
And hopefully, occasionally
We are lucky
We connect

So true it is Sue…we do stumble around… in the dark…I swear though.. I think sometimes we’re too scared to turn on the metaphoric lights…Afraid we might just really feel what is the real deal.
I can’t complain…I’ve been lucky…so far..But I’m keeping all my fingers and toes crossed…;)
