I will prevail I told myself
I will succeed at last
I will do this horrid thing
And I will do it fast
Without thought to its sordidness, I
I will, my courage, uphold
I will not cower in my bed
I will be brave, I will be bold
And when this deed at last is done
And its memory in my past
I will shudder at my temerity
Stand here looking back, aghast
For I will not believe that I could have
Done this thing, you see
For killing spiders once his job
Is now mine by necessity

This poem is an excellent write; while I have no idea what prompted the divorce, the words seem to imply a certain hesitation in actually obtaining one... so, why do it? As God says, "Who are you, wife or husband, to say the other will not change?" ~~Bonnie Q
