No, I'm still a teetotaler, haven't had a drink in years, written from memory - well not quite, not a week goes by that i dont' dream of drinking, not a day that i don't think about it.
Its not the bottle I told him
The bottle itself has no hold over me
Pour the rum in a decanter
Or even into a kitchen pot
And I will still want to drink it
Problem with the bottle
Not I, I swore, I have never
Taken a drink from the bottle
Always civilized, I pour
I mix and I stir
Lady-like I sip, but never
Ever from the bottle
I’m a lady, I sip from a glass
Right up to the moment
I fall flat on my ass
This is a great write, Sue. Your memory tends to be sharp if you've done this before. I've got liquor left from my wedding in 1984. Like you I rarely drink, but I remember doing so.
Best regards,
Leland
