Indignities...A Mild Rant

I slipped yesterday and fell on the ice
Luckily on a well padded area
On me, not the ice
But the point is, it hurt like hell
I mean, really, I’ve fallen lots of time
When I drank it was a regular pastime
I think the ground was a lot closer then
Or maybe the floor was softer
Or my head harder
I didn’t even have the extra padding back then
But I don’t remember falling to have been so painful
Or being so damned sore afterward
So someone has done something rude
To change the whole falling down thing
It used to be a laughable offense
Now it’s become lethal
It’s bad enough that the liver gives out
Not long after the hangovers became too much
But now I have to add a sore ass
To my many complaints about aging
It just isn’t right, you know
But then ….what is

Golly, Sue has joined the club. Your humor is right on point. I've taken a couple of spills this winter and it was amazing how long it took for the soreness to go away. Gotta be more careful, I guess.
Best regards,
Leland

As Larry said, if only we could bounce. A few years ago I slipped on ice: the first thing to slam against the concrete was the back of my head and it exploded. I wound up having to crawl into the house, couldn't stand up. I was down with my head exploding for over a week. Aaaargh! Between getting old coupled with MS and Lupus, sometimes it ain't purdy: BUT! it often is halarious. LOL! Great write. ~~BonnieQ

If humans could only bounce, they'd sure sell a helluva lot less ass--pirin!

Oh boy... Once a few years a ago i fell backwards on the ice. My head was all padded up with hat and hood so it didn't hurt my head but, the next day all my neck muscles were killing me. I couldn't get up, I had to turn to get up out of bed, and it took soo long to heal. Feel better soon!
