I'll admit it, I've gained a few pounds
Well, quite a few, truth be known
And I've been painfully aware of it
You ladies may know what I mean
The apologetic stage,
Where you find yourself apologizing
To the supermarket cashier
'I don't usually buy this fattening stuff
just an impulse, I really shouldn't'
as if she really cared
the excuse stage
'my metabolism has slowed down
these past few years
I sit all day at my job, no exercise'
And of course, the irate stage
'I guess at my age I can eat what I want
its not like anyone notices anymore'
yep, that's me
or at least it was me till I found my man
that's right it was a man who changed me
I'm slimmer, sleeker and pounds lighter
And I'm madly in love with an older man
one no longer here i'm afraid
but he's firmly in my life
Thank you dr. atkins

(((sue)))

congratulations on your weight loss :) outstanding achievement

i don't diet. have been on diets from the time i was 12 years old until around five years ago. i watch what i eat, and try to eat healthy, but if i want some pizza, or popcorn, or pretzels, i'll have pizza, popcorn or pretzels. i just eat less of it. :) moderation is the key for me, and exercise (having no car does make one have to walk everywhere). i don't deny myself a goodie. :) now, i do not eat sweets--never have much cared for sugary stuff *ick* but have an affinity for pasta

well, i'm rambling...defending myself, i guess...sorry about that. if the atkins diet works, i'm all for it...but didn't he die of obesity and high cholesterol? read that in the news in the last week or two...that's scary

anyway, i enjoyed your poem, and again, congratulations!

(((HUGS))) and love, karla. :)

Dear Sue

Contratulations! First for the poem and then for your weight loss!

I work in a store where they sell these products and I constantly hear how good they taste and how good they work; so many success stories by both women and men.

All the very best in both endeavours!
