So many sullen years ago,
Jesus Christ was hung on a tree.
We call it a wooden cross,
where he died to set men free,
on Mt. Mariah at Calvary.
The king's of the earth tried him,
His true people denied him.
Gave Him the grave He went to hell,
three days in the belly of the earth.
Rose from death brought spiritual rebirth!
The Holy Ghost lived in Jesus,
in Jesus you saw God's face.
Feeding the poor healing the sick,
raising the dead triumphantly,
calming the storm a heart truly warm.
He died people so we could live,
he gave more than anyone could give.
He conquered Satan, sin, the grave,
the spirit of God forever wave.
and still mankind your soul He saves!
If you're a daughter or son of God,
He calls you fourth from the land of Nod,
claim your inheritance where saints have trod.
Stand up, go fourth, march on, stand tall ,
my Lord will answer His childrens call!
