I am a Navy veteran and my ship went back to sea, the USS Ranger CVA-62,I left my girlfriend Lourdes Fernandez pregnant with my son in Olongapo City in 1964, I never saw them again! I love the Philippines had a wonderful time there and still today I yearn to see my Son, would do almost anything to make contact with them! Here is my heart in this poem.
O' Philippines Islands Olongapo City,
I love and miss thee, tremendously!
Your magnificent sandy white beaches,
toasting boasting blue seas,
Dark plush green grass, vibrant
foliage, blooming flowers.
Pure white lily scented mornings
greet the sun as birds sing,
fairies danced glistening
between golden sun beams!
My shipmates and I debark our ship,
the USS Ranger CVA-62,
Our liberty boat brought us to friendly
shores and Filipino people.
Their Jitney drivers took us sailors
to restaurants, clubs and bars.
Filled with some beautiful women.
Yes world Filipino women!
We dined on Monkey meat on a stick,
eggs on rice maybe a national dish?
Soups mixed with ahso and poosa
many other ingredients.
We often ate things unknown but good!
I never saw a dog or cat there!
We were entertained in bars,
dancing with kind, polite and
wonderful women whose long
shining black hair dropped to the waist!
This song I will never forget entitled,
Just Give Some Kind Of Sign, Girl",
the singer was Brenton Woods
and it was a hit single in the sixties,
during the Motown era.
Anyway as darkness encompass the horizon
and midnight slowly moves in and says,
liberty is up Sailors, your ship awaits!
My prayers are with thee, people
of the Philippines Islands.
God has smile on thee again,
with help, favor and His love!
In the gripping finale of the BetterWorld cyberpunk series, Waylee, Kiyoko, and their friends attempt to bring down an all-powerful corporation and a corrupt government--all while eluding the biggest manhunt in history.
An alcoholic, miserly attorney reluctantly defends a black man from a false resisting arrest charge. He then discovers damaging information against the cops and two cronies, and embarks on a battle to keep himself and his client alive.
I hope, through this poem and other entreaties that you have made on the Internet, that someday you'll find your son.
