Thrilled by your comments about "Dust." Just got accepted for the anthology that Katherine Tracy, Editor of L'Intrigue, is putting together! Poem below is a bit 'lighter.' Kick to write; hope I didn't write it too fast. You guys inspire me. Means you get the blame.:)

              It's Sol, your Sun

Sure, blame me.  All I do is shine
like I am told.  Clouds gang up on me,
you know.  Big dudes in mud-grey cloaks
have to look out for.   I am rotund,
case you haven't noticed.  Got a schedule
to keep.  What would happen to clocks
if I went running after every nimbus and cumulus
sneaked up and tried to clap me over the mouth?
Appears to me that Earth is being run
by hype-artists lambed as Sun-worshippers.
All the time your "bods" get the money.
Perqs like time. Lie and fry yourselves lizard,
don't put it on me.  Did I promise not to burn
if you ripped holes in the ozone?  What
a joke.   Did I ask even one of you  to kneel
before Aerosol?   Here I am, taking the heat
twenty four/seven-twenty four/seven,
and you are down there carrying on
you are hot.  Not hot enough.  Stars and garters.
Got half a mind to fire up my flame-throwers
and barbeque a few pelts. Weren't for flowers
and trees and such, I would.  Oh, well.
Still a few rivers and lakes  able to play.
Seas I can polish,  children in need
of a little more light.  Gotta split.  Feel a chill.
.

It is good to see someone taking an active roll in reintoducing the goddess sun to the ones who depend on her so much. Thanks for the wonderful reminder Phylis.

I like the image of the clouds in gray cloaks and the whole thing form the sun's point of view. After all he's doing us a favor by existing.

I like the combo title of this poem... Yes, it glows!
"It's Sol, your Sun" leaving the message: "Treat me good - I will
shine health on you."

Inspiring, beautiful and wise composition adding value to Poetry.

Healthy happy Life, Poet!

Sol's having a donkey barbecue. An ass-chewing, put the guilty on the spot! Take pollutants/aerosol/mercury/acid rain off the ballot, fry the hype-artists and politicians pelts! Congrats on the anthology, Phyllis! Shine On!

Oh well... we've messed with mother nature plenty and the sun is mad at us. Watch out! I like the way you assume the protagonist's personality. That makes it up close and personal and much, much more impressive when the poet knows to let the poem speak for itself. Good on you! :-)
