/////\\\\\///////\\//....I like Poe, don't misunderstand. Am very distantly related! {Explains a lot.) But we are not always in the mood for dark, are we.
Dark, and there is dark. ~~ Thank you for adding so much light to my life. Always stay you. Love, Pea
/////////////\\\\\\\.........????????

So dark this morning.  So
Edgar Allen Poe.

Rain piles stones on a wall so
thick, so
grey, so
sepulchral, so
elephant silent.  No,
muffled, so
the atoms of the thunder feel so
pressed, they split like so,
then clot a mass Atlas could not lift.  So
this mother of an anvil, no,
the mother of all anvils, drums down so
much excitement, stones grow soft.  So
it is with walls.  Even down runs down.  So.
Maybe the world won't always be so-
so,
so,
Poe ?

Captures the atmosphere and esence of Mr. Poet just exactly...so, of course:-) A darkly tangible and visually rich write.

"So Poe?" Yes and so very good, dark or not.

The title; the opening lines beg the reader to follow the path to see where your brilliant mind takes us...and the reader is NOT disappointed. Crisp imagery brings each scene vividly to mind...yes. Pea, this is poetry at its absolute best!! I'm definately saving this one.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

And what we in North Texas wouldn't give for a few of those Poe mornings, drear 'though they may be. LOL

Pea

We all need to help shine a little light in the world..
And you do that in your own inimitable style..

Even down runs down

A fascinating poem, Phyllis, but I must admit that I do like Poe once in awhile.
