              Early Gift

November:   North Carolina's skies
feature blue robbed of body.
Not grey, not much of anything.
What I hate and what I love
about Nature:  her surprises:
this morning, isolated clouds,
small, childish, and plump
in pink and peach.
What a cynic would say:
color just us being toxic.
How I answer: see if you can
make such a cloud.  Now color
it pink.  Now add peach
and a face.   Not the accident
you think, but a reminder
to take beauty where we find it:
in a winter sky, say, that felt
itself cold and impersonal.
Life is a rock, crumbling fast,
or a pad to launch ourselves
from.  Fly like children into
its color anytime we wish.

Well, being a poetess, you would see poetry in anything. I mean that as a compliment. Thank you for sharing this gift. Love and best wishes to you,

Wow. Yes, truly inspirational. Usually the cynic here but I think I like your perspective better. Liz

To be able to see beauty and be happy at a time when a day is gloomy or uneventful, maybe difficult but can definitely be done. You are lucky to have that "early gift" of finding color to make your life worthwhile. Artfully crafted piece. Thank you for sharing.

Be well,
Sheri

Crayola Box wrapped for the holidays sharpener hole in the box shavings! I love that smell of Crayola wax! You draw the outline and I'll color outside the lines and we'll float on the puffy clouds 'til Ray calls you for supper! Tell him to put extra puffy marshmallows on the yams and set the table with that purple, orange, sienna and green-leaf Rit job tablecloth. If I spill the gravy, no one will notice...you know that knock on your door? It's me. Happy Holidays to you and your family, Pea...give Taylor baby a big hug for me. I smile when I say Carolina wren...

Love,
Sage

your correct, there is much beauty to behold in many facets of life and nature. we sometimes, ( well mostly ), overlook the little things of life that bring so much into the world and they come and go unnoticed except by the few. well written and a joy to read.

always,
