Snowballs on the bushes...
Frosting peaking on limbs....
Divinity, ahhh....dreamlike hush.......
Wind? You're sending wind?
~~~
Crocuses aren't about to wait
For March to give the signal.
Who cares about a silly date?
Wanna wiggle, gonna wiggle!
~~~~
Summer hums, ever notice?
To sing takes effort, you see..
Kick back on a sun and blue boat,
hum a few bars, life's a breeze!..
~~~~
Jack Frost spills paint everywhere.
On the trees, on the ground, on him..
Red, gold, and wine confetti the air.
To think he took up painting on a whim!.
Every season has pluses and minuses.
One day it is blue, the next, it is fine.
Thank heaven their beauty is timeless..
Rain, sleet, and mud puddles shine.
you give all seasons their just due -- as it should be, Phyllis Jean -- for how could we possible appreciate one without the diversity of the others -- peace, love and great joy to you my friend -- JMW
Beautifully conceived and written, Phyllis. Sometimes I think
it would be nice to narrow the seasons down to two: April/May
and September/October, with occasional trips into Summer and
Winter. But then I think: how dull. You know? -gene.
Each season, richly imaged through your observant (Poet's) eyes - stunning! In Texas, we go from Almost Summer, Summer, Still Summer, and *sigh*. LOL Enjoyed this visual treat for the eyes: sunny days or rainy ones, they come alive in these lines! Well done.
The five stages poem are like five fingers pointing in the same direction, to a collection of postcards painted with colorful words and metaphors.
Excellent!
I love this and love especially the image you made of a clumsy Jack Frost who leaving winter behind becomes a sloppy painter and leaves his legacy of spring and summer colours. Nicely done my friend.
