Empty Hearts

You tell me that you're leaving me-
You want a different life-
Than whatever I can give you
as your loving wife.
You say you want to see the world-
Leave our modern home-
It doesn't matter now - for I've
always felt alone.
Standing all these years beside you-
no one stood with me-
You were busy with your work and
that darn old TV.
Your heart has turned cold-
but I once loved you so-
You're not just leaving me now-
you left me five years ago.

All these year's I've loved you-
years of hanging on-
Crying in my pillow - feeling
so alone.
I buried my love and my passions
deep in my heart-
You may as well leave now - we've
always been apart.
Take my pride with you - take my
heart as you go-
I want need it anymore - I just
carried it for show.
Take my dignity - take my rope-
so I won't keep holding on-
To a man who don't love me -
to a man who's gone.

Loneliness hasn't just moved in -
it's been here for awhile-
I sit here just a shell of a woman-
no passion ..no smile.
In a sea of swirling pain I know
I must go on-
Pain deep in my heart - more
hurt than I have known.
Bags all packed - you stand before me
not knowing what to say-
Just go on out the door - just get
out of my way.
Guess I am the fool here- I'm
the one who cries-
Watching you walk away while
my love slowly dies.....

So many good coments allready, whatever I say will be inadequate but this is one of the most emotional poems I've read for a long time. It's always sad when loves dies. Been there, done that.

No, Linda, he did not take your dignity, for that is in evidence throughout this very painful write. I hear a note of survival as well. A "modern home" may house a ramshackle heart, but YOUR heart is very obviously intact in an emotionally and well-written poem. Youve said it well, Linda. Take care. katy.

Wonderful write ... my dear friend ... you really have a wonderful imagination too ... keep it up ... Feel so sad bcoz i get to read just your Repost all the time ... Eventhough all you writes are wonderful ...

i would love to say one thing ...

HEARTS ARE NEVER EMPTY THERE WILL BE SOMEONE ALWAYS IN IT TO THINK OFF ... STOP THINKING and SCREAMING THAT YOU ARE ALONE WHEN YOU HAVE EVERYONE NEAR YOU ...

MOST IMPORTANT THING ... FIRST UNDERSTAND THE REALITY OF LIFE ...

This is really a marvellous write ...
Keep smiling and take care ....

Touches too deep to really give a review words. Pain too real and too well understood. "One man's trash, another man's treasure"
