I can hope and I can wait, even comtemplate.
Even squander all my time, although I hate to wait.
Until the powers of mighty folk, at The New York Times,
Decide to lift my book to read, instead of pass me by.
For now I wait and wait and sigh, as another day,
Passes through the endless time, on its merry way.
Oh, I wish they would, I wish they might
Make my dream come true tonight!
My book, although it may never be reviewed with The New York times, is currently sitting
patiently on one of their shelves, gathering dust. It may never make a best seller list
nor be palatable in their choice of reading material but just having the book in the realm
of many great authors is a very rewarding and most gratifying. OK, New York Times,
do your stuff!
