Like every other child I tried, but I got hungry.

Gonna Pack My Bags by Jim Stewart c 2008 I gonna pack my bags Yep, I'm gonna pack my bags and leave. It don't matter where I'm going I ain't been there before. They're gonna miss me Yep, they're gonna miss me I'm sure. I'm gonna see the world Like it's never been seen before. I ain't gonna look back Nope, I ain't gonna look back. How come they aren't looking for me? Don't they know I'm gone? I'm gonna head back Yep, I'm gonna head back. What would they do without me? We'll find out another day.

Great poem! I think we all did it or at least thought about it. I did it once. Got as far as the corner, walked around the block and then spent the night on a rattan couch on our back porch. When I awoke in the morning someone had put a blanket over me. I snuck into the house and crawled into my own warm bed. My parents never mentioned my rebellious adventure. Love the poem, love the picture.

I did that once, but took my boat with me & my dads gas credit card...I made it all the way to Ocracoke, NC where my grandmother lived from NJ in a 13 foot leaky plywood boat with an 18hp evinrude, no roof, and wooden seats...I may have gotten in BIG trouble but I had a blast, as I was 10 years old and out on my own...never in the ocean, only the intercoastal waterway...I always seemed to do things big...LOL, Ed
