Longing for You

By Kathy Lynn

 

Thoughts of you enter my dreams

As the mist swirls in the night fog

Filling my heart with longing

Wishing you would share my love

 

Memories of moments spent

In your loving embrace

Your touch, your smile

My soul cannot erase

 

Eyes of sapphire glistening

Pulling me in closer as I sigh

Tenderness of your smile

Was our love just a lie

 

Longings for what was before

Feelings deep within my soul

I cry out with my heart to you

“Please do not go.”

 

Unrequited love brings sadness

Into a former lover’s eyes

As I go on loving you quietly

For the rest of my life
