A soft kiss can mean so much

Poem Artwork

The Kiss
by Kathy Lynn

Soft breezes stroked his face like a paint brush
I watched a smile touch his eyes
As it slowly traveled to his mouth
Our sweet love could not be denied

I watched a smile touch his eyes
Soft voices flowed into the gentle breeze
Our sweet love could not be denied
Making my breath flutter like a butterfly

Soft voices flowed into the gentle breeze
Lips slowly coming together with a sigh
making my breath flutter like a butterfly
As we both slowly closed our eyes

Lips slowly coming together with a sigh
Swallowing each others sighs
As we both slowly closed our eyes
A love so deep it could not be denied

Swallowing each others sighs
streaks of sunight filled the sky
A love so deep it could not be denied
Filling our hearts with warmth inside

Streaks of sunlight filled the sky
So very beautiful and bright
Filling our hearts with warmth inside
Rainbows of color pleasing to the eye

So very beautiful and bright
As the kiss softly tingled our lips
Rainbows of color pleasing to the eye
As we savored each little sip

Is this poem written in a specific format? It has some of the qualities of a pantoum, but...not quite. It had me intrigued...
Beautiful poem, by the way.

A well intended kiss is a mystery and a treasure never to be forsaken. That is what your verses inspired, Kati. Love and hugs,
