Farewell My Love

Sometimes loving hurts us when we can't keep in touch

 Farewell My Love

.

I stand by the tree where you

Professed your love for me

Tears and sadness fill my heart

For our love can never be

.

You left so many months ago

Unable to send word where you are

I prayed for you each night

As I gazed at the stars

.

Each day I come to this tree

That you carved with two hearts

Gently I touch each one

Feeling you close…not so far apart

.

I will be here shall you return

With my arms open wide

Waiting to spend eternity with you

As we stand side by side

.
