She stood in a field that was
covered with fog and morning dew
Didn't have anymore time to be
loved - the bird was there as a
symbol of what had once been
important in her life.
Dressed in satin black, she had
witnessed her own funeral from
a pier - secured her from falling
in; unlike walking the plank
What had died wasn't her body
but rather it was her mind.
Always thought of everything
that had to be discovered; woke
in the morning saying, "I hope
there's something new to find;"
Even searched for the time to
find a magical love.
Then one day, without knowing it
a dream stealer came into her life
"When I get finished, there'll never
be another thought she'll understand;"
"I'll stick around awhile and play a
game, one she'll be sure to join in."
"And once I take all of her memories
both old and new, I'll sell them to the
highest bidder;" Then there was a
bright white flash - he had done his
job, it was all over; put her mind in
an old mayonnaise jar.
As he tucked the jar inside his old
tattered jacket, at it she mindlessly
glanced; on the back written in aging
thread were the words, "Lost Hope;"
She had died a hundred years ago; was
a spirit trying to make it up to heaven!

I wonder if this is how it feels to have Alzheimers?
Deep writing.
