Our time of friendship has ended,
But you don’t want to let go,
And I can’t bring myself to stay…

You have done too many things
That frighten me,
And I do not want to be
Near you any more...

Forget you say,
Forgive you beg,
Like the scars you left me,
Will ever fade…

You say;
Talk to me!
Like that was ever easy
For either of us.

You say;
“Listen to me”
But I no longer wish
To hear or see
You standing near my trees...

You use your strength
Against me,
As if that is the only
Way you can see-
Why don't you understand
How much I hate that kind of man!

I am done talking,
I have nothing more to say,
And still,
You won’t go away…

Making me feel as though
I can’t go on,
Can’t live until I know
You are not out there somewhere
Watching me,
Waiting till dawn...

When I need to run in my forest,
Dance with my trees.
And
I can’t do that
If I have to smell you hiding
In the early morning breeze.

I cannot live until
You give me the one thing I lack
And that is the security you are
Not hiding behind my back…

You must leave me alone,
I don’t want to see you,
Can’t stand the thought of you stalking me
Like I am some kind of game...

You were suppose to be my friend,
But you used me to your own end,
And now you are just some thing
That I wish I had never known,
A broken fence you can not mend…

I do not see you,
Cannot hear the lies
You try to tell
To who ever will listen…
And you have lost me forever,
Because I will never
Speak to you again…

God, Have I been there! This verse echoes my feeling when I ended a 15 year friendship with someone who put her need to continue shopping ahead of my daughter's medical needs. My warrior mother's respone was the same as this stanza, but not as polite or well said. Great Job, Reindeer.

Dear Retta, A great writing. But if this is the same guy I told you to kick in the nuts. Do it again, and take off to someone who will care.

Excellent write! Walk away now.....you know he's not worth it. I've been there many times, over and over again, and it's not worth it.

Excellent! I liked this stanza:
"When I need to run in my forest,
Dance with my trees.
And
I can’t do that
If I have to smell you hiding
In the early morning breeze."
