Like Two Leaves Falling...

We two,
Like snowflakes drifting,
With the storm,
Sometimes flowing together,
Sometimes separated,
By the fierce storm,
That blazes in our heart...

We two,
Lost in the dark beauty,
Of our world,
Sometimes called away,
By something we have seen-
Awed by our loss of innocence,
By our indifference,
Or sudden surge of love,
That flares in our soul...

We two,
Like two leaves falling,
Weathered by Spring and Winter,
Both changing with the seasons,
You to red,
I to gold...

We've grown stiff and hard,
And the morning's breeze
Has seen fit to set us free,
We float to the ground,
Sometimes falling side by side,
Sometimes not...
