*This poem is about Child Abuse*

So,
This is the
House of Pain…

A place where terror rules-
What a cold dark mistress she was!
Never pleased
Unless
She heard the song of weeping
Playing all night long…

Like a echo in my soul
I hear it even now…
Muffled sobs
That terrified me…

This House of Pain
Where
Where blood flows
Like a river.

And
Pails of water,
Were always red,
Instead of clear-

Don’t smile,
Dear God,
Never laugh!
It attracts their attention…

Eyes
Swivel to focus
In on you,
Damn well better know how
To become
Invisible!

They called me,
A
Child of Blood-
And
I laughed at them…

I
Was never a child-
That
Wet sticky stuff
Is not called blood.

It is Life.

Life.
Spilled onto the floor,
Smeared on the walls.
Silly fools,
That’s what the buckets
Were for…

Precious, I know the pain of being unloved and unwanted, but out of the kindness of their cruel hearts you are allowed to stay! You and I are survivors, we survived childhood, we are self taught and Damn fine women! LOVE YOU! SC

My heart weeps, Reindeer. People like you and I who have lived this hell must occasionally allow our pain to surface to make the world aware of the reality of this "shit" that happens to children. thank you for being brave enough to do it. Bobbi

Sad...too many children suffer. The key is to be the best you possible and forget the past. Otherwise you keep repeating it in your mind. Fill you mind with good thoughts. When I discovered that...the rest could be let go of.

Rein--that's something I can never bear to conceive. I just can't understand why people thrive on violent behavior. It saddens me so. Instead of being a child of blood, he or she should be a child of love. You have subjected my mind to the obscurities of the mere fact that child abuse does happen and you have successfully trapped me into the mind of the victem. Your works are truly exceptional! Thanks for sharing this wonderful piece. LC
