Tell…Tell…


I walk in the silence of my forest,
Passing the beauty of all I see,
No one questions me here,
No one making me be
Something I am not…

So tired from the battles I fought,
To simply live another day,
Resting by the banks of my river,
I keep the world at bay…

Your whisper in my forest,
And the gentle breeze,
Echoes your call,
Why….tell…tell…

And you don’t see how deeply
My heart fell,
How I plunge into the dark abyss,
It’s not my life I missed!
And I don’t want to tell!

I never learned to speak,
Of the pain which carved my heart in stone,
All my life I lived alone,
And loved every moment of silence,
Dwell in a place few can find,
Your world is not kind!

So I chose to live here,
In the Forest of the Moon,
I do not wish to see the sun,
Rising so brightly at noon!

It is the shadows I love,
The moon which shines so softly
From above,
The silence here I learned to love!

Yet you whisper always,
Tell…tell…
Of my life from hell…
I lived it!
I don’t want to visit there again,
Why can’t you understand?
It isn’t where I want to be!

Why can’t you see?
I am safe here and happy,
I am hidden by the darkness,
Wrapped in the beauty of my trees,
So tall and brave and free,
So lovely to me…

I sit here crying softly,
Tears that make so sound,
As they fall to the ground,
And always the shivering among the trees,
Playing echoes that pierce my heart,

Tell…Tell…
Is all I hear,
Something I cannot bear to say…
So instead of answering you,
I walk away…
