This planet this place
We call home
Moves in silence yet
She soars with grace
And style and
Majesty;
She gives us life
She holds us in her embrace
She nourishes us;
Without her we are nothing
With her our potential is unlimited;
Her standards are few—
Do not pollute her skies
Or her waters
Or her land
And above all
Do no deny her authority
Because she can trade us in
For a crocodile
Or an ant
Or a cockroach
It’s her choice to make;
She is not selfish—
For she welcomes
Improvements in her
Landscape
Her water flows
And in all her
Life support systems;
Still do not try to lecture her
Because she alone grades
All our efforts.
George Carlin said something that this poem reminds me of. He said that the earth will always be O.K.. She will shake us off like a bunch of fleas. I wish the people would pay attention.
Old Mother Earth and all her sisters, Mom Ocean, Ma Mountains, & the rest of the queen Mother Nature all need man's support to keep our little blue ball in space functioning on the str8 & narrow...-e-
Excellent presentation of what so many people need to read. I fear it's becoming too late, given the mindset of Washington and its efforts to not withdraw fro the Climate Change world policy, but increase the saturation of CO2.
