Pay Attention to Love
If you want to learn more about a woman
Observe and listen to her walk
A loud high-heeled clickety clack
Doesn’t mean she wants your attention
It means she wants everyone’s attention--
Pass her by;
But if she moves quietly catlike
With purpose
She knows her own mind
And she doesn’t need you;
Don’t stalk her but go with the flow
You will learn soon enough
if she has an interest in you.
She will try not to let you know it.
A quick glance while your attention is diverted
And she could decide your fate.
In short order she will know
what you wear what you read
when you laugh and why
and whether you would make a
good lover.
Yes, she can do all that
With stealth and guile.
She will guide you control you
Move you in and spin your mind
She will turn you into your
better self or
into her dysfunctional slave--
and make you believe
it was all your choice.
A woman is a mystery
to every man who ever tried to
match wits with this slippery
wonder of nature
This succulent post-pubescence
conniving mortal with the dexterity
of a panther and the bite of a
venomous reptile
with the mental tensile strength
of steel.
And in your most vulnerable moment
When your sensibilities are ragged
and your brain is dulled into a
state of slurpy rapture
She will sink her fangs into
your jugular vein
extract the essence of your soul
And you will never again
know you once had
The will to choose.
Pray tell... what ever inspired you to write this incredible poem?
Thanks for the advice, but I've found living almost as long as you that pursuit of any kind is fruitless. A woman doesn't know what she wants, but don't try to steer her to it. Let her bungle onto it herself. Sorry if that sounds romantic. ;-)
