This is such a deceiving write on the surface. So enchanting and almost surreal...yet with just a tiny scratch below the surface it reads like so much sadness. To be alone in the dark with the thought of a distant lover...a dark dream lover. or i'm just full of it...lol...but that is how it reads to me. :)

This is soulful and longing as well as beautifully described and written, Regis. So many of us can relate this to our own life experiences in so many different ways, although "each to his/her own darkness and sense of being alone", I suppose. I have a poem called "Sad Loss Comes To Bed" (NB not "Dead Loss Comes To Bed"!!!) of which this poignant write reminds me.
