Twilight is the best of day Haunting uncertain mysterious perfect for a spirit like mine where nothing is known and the owl master of the night feels at home in the flux of shadows that abound outside the window mingling with the ghostly reflections in my soul It is the best of time passing when between light and darkness darkness and light morning or night nothing matters in the twilight of my existence but the aching
Damn, this is really, really good Regis. Compelling imagery--timely for October in the week leading into All Hallow's Eve. Love this one. Wish I'd done it myself in fact:-)
Expertly worded. This poem has a lonely, sad feel. You have picked the perfect time of day to coincide with these sort of feelings. Your imagery is a perfect reflection of this mood. Love and hugs:)

Love this one! Yes, the stillness of twilight has a way of allowing all of those emotions we hold close to the cuff to come out. Wonderful write Regis.
I love the picture. As you saw in my poem, I have a daytime owl. They are great message bearers.
The darknes is nothing to fear when you know the daylight is forthcoming. "Of course, you know that." It is awesome how you bear your soul with your work. A lot of men are too macho. Thank God there are sensitive men like you who are willing to share their thoughts.
You are a great poet and I appreciate the opportunity to read your writings.
Love and Blessings,

I was completely THERE with you on this one. Beautiful and inspiring. "In the twlight of my existence" - yea!!!
i LOVE the picture and find the writing itself poignant and touching in a few places, esp. the end. great read on a day that is in fact the vernal equinox when the dark and the light are equal. how synchronistic.
And my aching, no matter how much I have moved forward, will ever end. Thnx for sharing Regis. This hauntingly beautiful. May the Lord be with you always, and at you side constantly. With much love, in heart, joy to the world, peace on earth, & (((HUGS))), Barbie
Dearest Regis,
This is as all your poetry is, expressive and meaningful. Your flow is awesome. You seem to exude poetic expression. May your aching turn to peace and happiness.
With love... Chanti
I think Regis, that all poets and creative spirits are at home in the quiet of night. It's our time to "purge" the world's craziness and make creative sense of it all. As you say on your title page to your website here:"love" is the answer to all of this gem of a planet's problems.
Made it through another day! Twilight is victory! A little respite, before the age of a new dawn... great write...

Sad, hopeful, deep thoughts and feelings of a soul caught in uncertainties of life. Vulnerable, darkened. Happiness of life being threatened & yanked at. Turning into fear & pain, yet light shines still keeping total darkness out. Able to still see and feel there is hope and beauty outside a soul dangling in the twilight times of life.
Very Deep, Methodical poem
Magnificent Reg.!!
There is always light and hope to see. Even when the owl's eyes threaten.

... But twilight is also that unique dimension of time and nature that gives birth to dawn, and then aching darkness fades away, first in still unbelieving shades of violet, then in very soft and soothing hues of sun. May your twilight birth that dawn very soon, Regis. Your poetry is beautiful, and you are a very gentle spirit.

Regis, I have always loved twilight and dawn most of all...this is an excellent emotional description of that magic time between day and night. Loved the feeling it gave...thank you.

Excellent images and excellent poem. Thank you for sharing this.
There is nothing "between" about this write, Regis; nothing shadowy or unclear. It shines with a clarity of expression that is admirable, given the ambivalence it conjures. The last seven lines are so striking that I think they could stand alone. Twilight is about a dull ache, I reckon... either acknowledging it exists or trying to cover it up. Excellent as always. TY Kate xx. PS the new pic on your biog caught me by surprise, but it is captivating. LOL
You've caught my favorite part of the day too. I think that it's sort of the cusp between what is and what could be. Me, being a night creature, yearning for the mysteries of night and yet loving the mixture of the two. Wonderful piece. ;) Silver
A most beautiful time - as with life itself - to find peace and reflect. I love the onset of dark skies and stars, as so well depicted in your verse...and pic! Solace be thy reward...M
I hear great pain, heartache, that mingles in the waning night before the light attempts to chase it away. The crow, a sign of passing, changes ... not necessarily of anyone's chosing. The words and picture are wed to one another but not necessarily a happy couple. Beauty in heartache doesn't sound right but they can exist side-by-side; it's more like looking forward but unable to see very far down the road. Bravo!
:)Sandy
Twilight - what a beautiful metaphor the inner pain. Hope yours emerges into sunshine!

Abother soul-searching piece of literary offering and a scholarly and cryptic one at that. To search our souls for meaning is a quest all mankind with forthought has attempted to solve throughout the ages. The crepuscle is that perfect time with which to ponder the here and now, the hither and then. And the owl said . . .

Oh Regis! You have captured my favorite time of the day so vividly, so beautifully! The gloaming, I even call it that, is the time when the doors of one world are opening while the doors of another are closing. THE GLOAMING is a special moment between worlds.
