Hurt

Hurting in silence
Missing you
It’s not so bad in the dark
No one sees you
No one sees me
Your tears can flow freely
Your pain is yours only
No one knows
In the arms of darkness
You feel solace
I feel solace
She loves you
You love me
Like she said she would
Like you said you would
Even though now you know
Even though now I know
She was lying
You were lying
You love her
I love you
She does not know you
She does not know me
And hurt beyond
You know what to do
I know what to do
Good-bye you

I love you

This kind of pain is needed in order to develop as a human being and survive later.
As with the hatching chick, if someone helps it out of the shell, the chick will be distorted. It will never live up to what it could and should be.

Reg...pain is skilled in making us fold into a shell, crashing its emotion into our hearts and mind, and more so when the heart is pelted with a hurt that leaves us emotionally drained. Love is emotionally tied to pain and hurt, almost in every relationship we have, friends, family, and our closest relationships.

I wish you well my friend...

The beginning of this poem has a very isolated feeling. The emotions seem to evolve from there. Hurt, acceptance, strength.... I hope those emotions evolve in a positive direction. If I'm being honest, I was a little confused by the pronouns in this piece; there's a riddle-like affect because of it:

"She loves you
You love me"

"You love her
I love you"

A love triangle maybe. Maybe I'm not meant to understand. Thank you for sharing this hurt, Regis. Hugs for you:)

We should be content that the poet showed us a few drops from his emotion.

Regis: There IS a confusing part in this poem about your loss - that you were lying. Definitely, you were not lying. However, in the confusion that comes from disruption and pain, it could be that in the poem you are conveying such by saying you were lying. I am sorry for this hurting time in your life and I can only say that I am "here" to listen and also to empathize. I too have suffered my share of loss. It's the human condition. It is also that condition to be able - eventually, for most of us, not all - to be able to move on -- I hate the saying that "time heals all wounds," which was a comment made to me by my brother when I was devastated by a third miscarriage when his wife was just about to deliver ------ so I'm not going to say that. It is callous, I think, to deliver aphorisms at such a time. On the other hand, some people just do not know what to say to a person in pain. Again, I can only say, I'm listening. Keep writing, whatever you do; there is at least a tiny bit of healing in that. As was said by Anne Sexton's therapist, God is in your typewriter. I am not very religious, but what he meant was that writing was good for her, and they say it kept her going for at least 18 years --- for you, hopefully, many, many more than that.
