Curse if I live, curse if I die,
Curse all the little fireflies,
that once I thought were such delight,
are but a joke of endless plights,
to get from here, to get to there,
such anxious flights, to go nowhere,
in sullen night, down winding streams,
in meadows, it appeared were green,
up into skies, I thought were bright,
their blazing trails, extinguished sight,
for not a thing was to be seen,
not here, not there, not anywhere,
no reason given, then, or now,
how senseless that I was in awe,
Curse all the little fireflies,
that made think that I could fly!!
