For the past year, I've lived in a cottage in the woods. It's a far cry from the urban and urbane, but it has its moments.
From dark oak branches Squirrels loudly chitter, "Caution, Horned owl hunts now." Pastel glories stand. Self-seeding Impatiens rise. Tended by the breeze. Fireflies flicker by Dance to cicada's rhythm Nature's Broadway show Trees under dark clouds Sycamores, oaks and gums sway Rain storm imminent

Squirrels I love to see put peanuts in ground for winter, fireflies I love to watch on hot july summer nights, impatience I love the many colors and they do spread out just fine, and the trees of fall with their many splendid colors cannot be beat. These 4 nature Haiku's are great**********

Not a big fan of Haiku in general but for some reason I loved #3...an immersive pastiche of sight and sound.
Would love to hear more about your 'cottage' adventures. Running out of coffee, or stepping in moose shit...do tell more ;)
