wild fire season in the western mountains
this year. the sheer magnitude of these
fires boggles the mind. some day i'll write a poem that captures the grandeur and the horror, til then:

red sun in grey sky
a certain taste on the wind
forest fire

This was great, you certainly know how to write haiku`s. We were on alert over here a couple of weeks with the prolonged heat. Cant imagine the sheer power of what you describe about over there.

if the fire is natural than we must celelbrate... if it is man-made folly, we are all consumed by its flames..

Sad if that happens...but sometimes in nature it's what's needed for new growth!!

(((john)))

i used to live in salt lake city, utah, and i remember the taste of fire on the wind...and the smell of smoke pervading everything...and the red glow in the mountains at night...you've brought back some long forgotten memories with this

well done, my friend

karla. :)
