My heart laments the travails of sorrow.
Memories of days and pain past,
as I hold fast to your hand, Lord Jesus.
Save for your guidance and your care
I would not be where I am today.
I would gladly walk the path you lead.
For here, in the suffering of Faith and Hope,
you help me to cope with this world and its
cold heart as I look above to the promise
of the Father.
My soul echoes the perils of Faith,
those I would gladly serve for His blessings.
Guided by His gentle hand, stray not
far from His blessed land.
Walk with the hope of the light,
stand tall to see with clear sight
the path leading to Heaven’s door.
For nevermore, once Grace has been
divided, will mankind know the love
that far too soon he bewailed, owing still
upon the debt Christ paid; the suffering
that he would never know.
I no longer think of where I shall go.
I trust in the soul and the spirit of
the light and Faith I carry for He that
sacrificed all, to lead me.
Courageous man who took the fall
for all of humankind.
And who, I ask, among us, could dine at His table?
Who could rest in comfort, knowing
that they have lived His Truth, believing in the
bittersweet decline of His life, inflicted simply
to soothe the egos of pretentious men?
Grant us Hope, Dear Father, who art in Heaven.
Grant us dignity, so that we may understand
and have mercy upon the suffering of another.
Grant us a soft heart; that we may give of self
to another in pain.
Grant that we walk in beauty, suffering not
the unsightly shadow of darkness in our way.
Guide us to life, guide us to love...
Guide this path I tread, each step taken along
the way, so that I may cherish with
reverence, the path He walked ~
so that I may live.
