~   Love’ Death   ~

Alone, my heart surveys new depths, in silent agony
Wretched torment shredding sorrow’s way
Love’s flame doused to ashes, smothering in grief
Painless naught… as painful were our days…

Enter not fond memories, into my coffins door
Magnified, so few and far between
To fill a loving heart, a tiny morsel gladly taken
Held tight in expectation of a dream

Ne'er to come to light, love’s death repeats sad misery
Dying o'er and o’er, a thousand times
Heeding not a word, to guard a precious gift… mistaken
My unattended bliss… slowly declined.

As the song says: 'You always hurt the one you love', a tragic reality of life!

I could not have written this any better Bonnie. The first stanza says it all about my life.

"Alone, my heart surveys new depths, in silent agony
Wretched torment shredding sorrow’s way
Love’s flame doused to ashes, smothering in grief
Painless naught… as painful were our days…"

And painful have been my days too sis. My newest poem may seem redundant on an old theme, but the thoughts are fresh and the sense is real. Thnx for sharing sis. May the Lord Jesue bless you, and those whom you love, and be with you always, and at your side constantly. With much love in my heart, stubborn to a fault, joy to the world, peace on earth, & ((((((((((MANY WONDERFUL SISTERLY HUGGGGSSSS)))))))))), your little sad sister, Barbie

Shakespearean tragedy qualities. Death dealing love a last agonising blow.

Top form.

What a sad, melancholy poem of love gone bad. Very well done.
