Life is eternal, love is immortal, pain is suffering, resignation is understanding. ~Lily of Lough Neagh~

Poem Artwork

 The cobblestone road

Sauntering along the old cobblestone road

Grass flourishes amid the stones

Ghostly memories of what once was

Where once stood two contentedly

Sad shoulders now slumping slight

Which once before were strong

Long dress brushing the stones as she walks

Where occasional butterfly tethers a ride

Removing her bonnet

She allows auburn hair to cascade down

Over sad shoulders whilst wind tousles her tresses

Downcast green eyes fraught with sorrow

Time unearthing veiled matters

Tears descending lingering down soft cheeks

Droplets falling in slow motion

Pooling onto the stones of what once were

Resignation

A bitter-sweet telling of a tale told before. Your approach makes it fresh again, and poignant all the same. You have a gift for romantic, lyrical writing that brings me joy each time I read it. Many thanks. Be well, Kathy

Very sad indeed my dear lady Lily. A vision of a woman in pain, my hope is this woman is not you. But wonderfully penned with good imagery.

I bow and tip my hat to you

This reminds me of how I felt as my ex-husband walked away Lily. This poem speaks to me. Wonderful vision of a sad woman who is suffering pain of the loss of someone she loved and is resigned.

Gorgeous poetry,Carole, and the pain and feelings are as real to the reader as they must be to the subject matter. This is just a great two lines in a poem that has many . . .

You are totally able to put yourself in place of whatever you write about.
When you write about love, you ARE love at that moment
When you write about sickness, you ARE sickness at that moment
When you write about sadness, you ARE sadness at that moment
This is what makes your poems so extraordinary.
Although this is a very sad poem, it’s beautiful in all its sadness.
Every word is felt, all the deep and touching emotions. Every movement can be seen as if it happens before my eyes.

Wonderful Carolee

A very sad poem but one should never give up. No stronger emotion exists than love.

Stay well and keep writing
