Their dreams were dreamt, their plans were made, their future plotted.
Unending love they pledged for all eternity.
But life got in the way and heartache soon replaced it
They said goodbye and Satan won that victory.
She learned to turn her needs to heaven, to seek His presence
To stop and listen to Him daily as she prayed.
He gave her joy and wisdom, strength beyond comprehension
Her home was blessed because the sacrifice He made.
The years have gone, the kids have grown, each day she’s sensing
That changes come and nothing ever stays the same..
But even though her home is growing quiet and empty
The sounds of laughter and the memories still remain..
Through all her tears, You sent the Son shine
Through all her pain, You sent Your love
You wrapped Your loving arms around her
And picked her up with strength and healing from above.
Lord, pick me up with strength and healing from above.
We all know that God is there through everyting, but you have captured the essence and true spirt of what Christ can do; give comfort in troubled and sorrowful times. It really makes you think.

Barbara, this is lovely. I don't usually read those themes that are too religious and full of false piety. But your poem is a lovely reminder of the power of prayer when life gives you too many lemons and you can only drink so much lemonade.
A beautiful message and you expressed very well. I enjoyed reading it.
