You pour your heart and soul into,

the written word for a book that's new.

You write and strive and wonder why

each day you find there's no reply.

Then finally there's an exception,

but alas, you find its just rejection!

A form that says, "It's nice, but 'NO',

we wish you luck where else you go."
 

Then you edit to gain perfection,

and add more NO's to your collection.

Then one fine day our God does smile,

you receive words in a different style.

"We liked your outline and your query,

please send your manuscript in a hurry!"
 

You can't believe its really true ,

at last someone takes note of you.

With joy and heart felt expectation,

you send your work for consideration.

All your friends say, "Hey, that's great!"

The truth is, now its time to wait!

You know you'll wait with trepidation,

to hear of the publisher's interpretation!
