THE SWEETEST PAST-TIME

By Londis Carpenter © 2005

Verse #1:

If I could write a song each day, until I’m ninety-two,

Have each song playing on the radio—

I would only write true love songs, dedicate them all to you,

Because you’re the sweetest past-time that I know.

Bridge #1:

You’re the one I want to go with to the picture show

You’re the one I want to dance my dosey-do

You’re the only one it seems

That fills up all my dreams

You’re The Sweetest Past-Time

Any boy could know.

Verse #2:

If I could go-a-fishing each day of my life,

With all the fishes fighting for my line—

I’d never fish the river; I’d just fish for your true love

Because, Honey you’re my fa-vo-rite past time.

Verse #3:

If I could be a hero in a children’s story book,

Rescue maidens from the dragon’s that I slay—

I would put you on my steed of white and carry you away

So that you could be my past-time every day.

Final Bridge:

You’re the one I want to be with when I make woopee

You’re the only one I want to share my life

I love you more each day

And that is why I say

Pretty past-time—I'm so glad that you're my wife.

Ahhhhhhh... what a heart-breaker you are, Lonny, my friend. There's nothing "out-of-style" about love songs and if you seranade Charlene, shes' a lucky woman, indeed.

Now you have me imagining the two of you "spooning" on the porch, iced cold lemonade nearby, making googly eyes at each other. (giggle)... Sigh... how sweeeeeeeeet! Promise me you will be serious about doing some recording... your songs and ONLY you to sing them is very charming. YEp... katy xox

Send this to that dude that just married Renee Zellwegger (or however she spells that name). I understand he's a country singing treasure.

(Hint: You're good at this!)
blessin's LC,

A humorous look at the world and life through my eyes. Follow the author and his wife, as they travel the world …. several times over. Laugh at their funny stories, self-inflicted crazy events, strange observations, wacky zoo facts and snippets
