A post nuclear war lament

As I sit on a stump

Looking out to sea

I am tired, oh so tired!All is nought.

The Ultimate Dread is done,and foolish Man had done it .

He has destroyed himself and all Life around him.

I tried to stay his hand with several warnings but pigheadedly

 he chose to ignore Me

O,foolish man!How foolish you were.You had everyting going

for you if would have only listened

Now as I look around me I see only desolation, emptiness.

All is silentl ,

all is still

But for the soft lapping Of the waves'on the indifferent shore

I will have to move on

The planet is dead to all life,What a waste! 

My heart is heavy

I shake my head in sorrow

But man, I will miss him

For in all his foolishness

He was dear to me
