Rush To Judgment.! (a prose poem)

The wife hated the dog at first sight !
And she told her husband, a hunter,
To get rid of it, but her husband said
that he was a well trained hunting dog
and it was good for his business as a hunter
and it would also be a good guard dog
for their only child.
but the wife was adamant. The dog being a huge black Labrador
scared her
“The dog must go!” She cried
an argument followed
.and the dog was allowed to stay.

One day while they were out gathering wood
in the nearby forest ,they heard a loud barking coming from their cabin
they both raced to their cabin, the wife fearing the worse
and they were greeted by the dog, blood on his nozzle standing in the doorway.

“My baby!” screamed the woman “ the dog killed my baby!”
“shoot him!” she screamed hysterically,“shoot him!” At the wife's urging and fearing the worse, the hunter lifted his rifle, took aim and shot the dog
through the heart, killing him instantly

They both rushed into the house,
then they froze in shock and disbelief as they entered the bedroom.

for there they saw the baby sleeping peacefully in the cradle and
a huge snake beneath, with it’s head bitten off!

The hunter was never the same from that day.He later committed suicide in remorse of killing his dog.
