High upon a wilting foliage knoll
Nature shudders at the approach of man
unrecycled cites below spreading
like plagues of old, infesting the land
forest have tears, weeping willows now cry
assault of man is a relentless deadly creeping
he does not come swift or with charity
but takes the soul of Gaia one bite at a time
Poseidon is dead or dying with his children
fowl landing on the sea, become sacrifices
oil spills created a watery unmythical grave
unknown before now, above or below
sent pollutants to the sky, rots the ozone away
Zeus in his anger sends back to us acid rain
made from the biological's of heedless man
all things are made of Nature, even man
could it be that we are the new plague of the land
I fear Nature will one day respond, taking up arms
do what she must to save her universe from harm
