Two poems for the kid in all of us.

 Animal Umbrella

It is raining out, but I know what to do;

I shall make an umbrella out of animals two.

A snake will be the handle; a turtle on top,

and I will be dry ‘til the last drop stops.

Chicken Pox

I itched all over, then broke out in little red spots,

“Congratulations,” mom said, “you have the chicken pox”.

For breakfast that morning she made some eggs,

and fried them on my head.

She told me to bathe using porridge instead of soap,

It made me feel like such a dope.

But I get to watch TV all day and eat ice cream sweet and cold,

Instead of going to school and doing what I am told.

When he got home, Dad said, “You need some special lotion, I think.”

It stopped the itching, but has turned me pink.

Too funny! It takes imagination to come up with fun stuff. I liked the Animal Umbrella because of its creativity. Don't stop now. Let us hear more! John Michael

Adorable poems children could easily identify with.

Never forget the day the neighbor girl with chickenpox came over to play with my sister. I believe I let her in the house because she only had a few spots and was feeling quite good. I was 16 and it was a hot midsummer when I came down with a really bad case that left me with scars. That's why I've taken the shingles shot. Don't want to have chickenpox again in my second childhood. ;-)

Had to chuckle at both. The imagery would make good illustrations. I remember my Mother smearing oatmeal on me. )-: Enjoyed these. Good work. Peace... rlc
