There are embraces from the past -
That cause the ruptures of the present
Creating a great divide,
Between dream and reality
Blurred boundaries -
Exterminate trust in words not yet spoken
On the edge of time she is sliding
With a straightjacket and a blindfold,
She had so much to give
But all was stolen,
And she lost trust in herself,
In her heartfelt emotions
Winds carry his silent whisper
Over the divide - and though
She's blindfolded, her ears are free
To hear the sweetness of the melody
Which is the constant voice of his soul
She thinks she has to jump
Into the vast unknown,
But she fears the fall into the sky
Yet her heart speaks to her -
Reassures her that beneath
Her feet she stands on buried treasure
The elusive treasure, sought by all
Yet seldom found
She digs the earth
Beneath her feet...
Finds a golden book and reads
A silent verse which says the hearts
Of these starving souls will eat
Out of each other's hands -
And like the mythic songbirds of old
They will fly into a never, never land
Of dreams beyond this vale of tears
This touched me deeply Ron
On the edge of time she is sliding
With a straightjacket and a blindfold,
She had so much to give
But all was stolen,
And she lost trust in herself,
In her heartfelt emotions

Ron,
I am tearful and speechless. If I heard you speak these words at a poetry recital I am sure the room would hush with the silent hunger for more of your beautiful art...
