Everybody's Eyes
(chorus)
What's happened to our country,
that makes us pick a side.
I used to say, just what I think,
but now it's suicide.
The hate has spread like fire,
it's in, everybody's eyes.
What's happened to our country,
that makes us pick a side.
Now I must love my brother,
whether black or brown or white.
The color of our skin don't count,
for what we are inside.
But don't go judge me wrongly,
for who you think I am,
for having my opinion,
that's just part of who I am.
(repeat chorus)
We have the right to vote for,
the people that we choose.
We used to shake each other's hand,
no matter win or lose.
But now it's like a war zone,
where the fighting never ends.
It has us all now headed,
for destruction in the end.
So I ask you now my brother,
that I hope we come to see.
We must respect each other's views,
even though we disagree.
For love's the only answer,
or if hate is all we be.
Then soon will be, a memory,
this land we once called free.
What's happened to our country,
that makes us pick a side.
I used to say, just what I think,
but now it's suicide.
The hate has spread like fire,
it's in, everybody's eyes.
What's happened to our country,
that makes us pick a side.
The hate has spread like fire,
it's in, everybody's eyes.
What's happened to our country,
that makes us pick a side.
Love ya!

Turmoil in our society always brings out great anthems. I believe that you may have created one here that would stand up along some of the others that are sung on holidays and at sporting events.
