Joel D Anderson From the Deer Stand A light snow falling On the gray and green ground. A Chickadee singing With a singular sound. A Fox leaps hopefully On a Rabbits den. A Rabbit bolts swiftly From the other end. A Gray Squirrel stutters Bearing his soul. A Woodpecker removes clutter From his tree trunk hole. Some think that hunting is shooting and killing, But it can be healing to the watchful and willing.

My girlfriend has a stand on her 15 acres and is out there with gun or arrow and is always happy to get some meat to save for future meals and revels in cooking it up to perfection, but we all are not hunters, to her it is just something that makes her happy...pretty write, JD...-e-

I never shot a deer in my three seasons out on the stand waiting for a buck to come by. But, I found that I observed nature operating at its finest as it transitioned from the glory of all color into the frigid snowscape of winter.
