Mournful

Poem Artwork

You were gone before I even knew.

Word of your demise, reached me from another source.
I had stood and waited, for someone who would never come.
Isn't life strange, the quirks and follies that come your way.
I went looking for you, one fine summer day in June.
With heavy heart and a mournful tear in my eye.
The groundsman stepped out, the distance where you now lay.
I followed suit, with weary brow and trepidation in my heart
As I gazed, at the unmarked spot upon the emerald grass.
Snatched away in your prime, with so much still to be realised
I understood, there are no guarantees in life,
So make the most of what you have, for life is just a hologram

This poem was so deeply moving,it tugged at my heart and I am still holding back tears from reading it,it truly touched me.I do understand how that feels.Finding out someone you care for has passed away without your knowledge of it sooner is an awful feeling,it hurts.I have been there too.

A true write of life. I had serious heart issues and was forced to retire when I was quite young. Always thought I wouldn't live to get old but here I am pushing towards seventy and still kicking...so yes it is wise to enjoy and appreciate every moment we get on this earth..

Wise counsel, Peter. And I can most surely relate to the theme expressed in your verses. Wishing you much goodness with peace, joy, good health and a myriad of blessings on this day (night) and always.

Let Your Goddess Grow! by Charlene Proctor

Intuitively, I know I've lived many lifetimes, and none more interesting than the one I'm living now. However, being born an old soul somehow did not excuse me from the same job I share with you and that is learning to craft a positive attitude about
