Magdalene and the Bells

One quiet evening at the door arouse a clatter

Father Francis awoke to see what was the matter

Quickly from his old spring bed his sprang

For the door bell noisily it rang

At the door seven young priests stood

Looking like a cold, hungry and tired brood

The quiet little town they will move to

Accommodation will have to be make do

Concerned Father Francis had to be sure

That the new shepherds were pure

And his flock would be in good hands

For a good test clever minds had to band

The town elder council members he did call

But for this one they were not on the ball

Til dawn they pondered and pondered

For a solution they were floundered

Tired Father Francis prayed for any sign even prime

Winds whirled in teasing to a rattling the bells to a chime

What a grand idea! suddenly Father Francis smiled!

Bring the visitors in, happily he cried!

Quickly call Magdalene, he called out.

You want the town’s slut here? someone muttered in doubt

Sexy, big bosomed Magdalene walked in

Seeing all her tricks of the trade Father Francis did grin

The plan in her ears he whispered in an undertone

Undress, Father Francis ordered the visitors, as you were born

Little silver bells the visitors were given

The grand test will now be proven

On their manhood the little silver bells were tied

A platform for queries they were all denied

To music Magdalene started dancing

In her school girl outfit she was prancing

With the pink ribbons she looked like a young teen

Closely watching the visitors, no reaction was seen

One by one her outfit she started shedding

The end the visitors were all dreading

Low whimpering of a little bell could be heard

Loud got the bell as the bra was shred

Magdalene in a frenzy she danced

So loud was the bell that off it lashed

The bell went clattering to the ground

The hall went quiet, the clattering did astound

To the youngest of the priests slowly they all turned

With embarrassment his young face burned

Successful test, thought Father Francis with a sigh of relief

In the young one the incident shaken his belief

But thankful that the bad shepherd had been found

His flock will now be safe and sound

Picking up the bell, forward a few steps the young one took

Bending over he did to reach for the bell without its hook

The whole room suddenly shook with vibrating angry sounds

As all the other bells started ringing out loud

Cruel cruel cruel and absolutely hilarious:-) Even at that, it just goes to show that most of us tend to be both too hypocritical and too narrow minded in our thinking. Blending erotic imagery and humor with statements of social significance can be a big challenge but you do so extremely well in these very entertaining lines.

Well, I've never heard this before, verse or no verse, so it's fallen on virgin territory with me, Sandie! :)) I like it that priests are men first and foremost, of whatever persuasion! Wouldn't want anyone pastoring me who couldn't identify with the problems humanity faces, after all! It's not the bells on the manhood that's the problem, if they're kept where they should be... perhaps the bells need to be applied to the eyeballs first, the hands second WAY before they get to the manhood bits! Or, on second thoughts, the MIND first. THAT would be telling indeed! You are a class act that pushes the envelope and everything else just that little bit further... TY for this eye-popper! Kate xx

Sandra, another poet here in AD was so impressed with your hilarious, hugely keepable (I make up words hehe) ditty... now I have the problem of finding a way to sufficently thanking the person.

This is a riot! a hoot! the kind of read that is the high point in a session of reading. One expression after another had me on the floor... the poetry, the rhymes, the rhythm... a supreme treat for the brain, indeed. Love it. katy xox
