This poem is dedicated to my first wife, Raya, who died of breast cancer.
I also wrote a short story about her titled, "A Slice of A Short Life."

Poem Artwork

“Live, Love and Laugh” Was Her Way

“Live, Love and Laugh”

My wife would often preach.

“Live, Love and Laugh”

It seemed so simple, yet out of reach.

“Live, Love and Laugh”

Was on a charm, she wore most everyday.

“Live, Love and Laugh”

Is a good way to live, or so they say.

 “Live, Love and Laugh”

It is what she would like to do.

“Live, Love and Laugh”

Sounds pretty good, but her days were few.

“Live, Love and Laugh”

She had cancer, she was my wife.

“Live, Love and Laugh”

It was too young to take her life.

“Live, Love and Laugh”

Why did she have to go away from me?

“Live, Love and Laugh”

The doctor tried, but it was not to be.

“Live, Love and Laugh”

It what she said, though she often cried.

“Live, Love and Laugh”

Is what she tried to do, until the day she died.

 “Live, Love and Laugh”

I know now she’s is living, in a much better space.

Where she can really “Live, Love and Laugh”

Singing like an angel,

 in another world,

 in another place.

Very poignant. And it has an important message. What was that old song? "Enjoy yourself. It's later than you think."

I had a lump in my throat throughout this poem. Wow.
Her words were, and are, an insight into her heart, and
I have no doubt that she got that insight she lived by
from the Lord Himself.
Such beautiful, healing, encouraging poetic verses these are
my brother. Deeply Moving poem.

Merry Christ mas,
from your friend David

This is such a great but sad wonderful write. I know you loved her very much just as i did my Tom. He lived and laughed often and loved me much too. He had so much to give but was taken away from me too. Cannot understand sometimes God's why, but should not question them either. I am a religious person too. Thanks for suggesting this poem for me to read. I will live, laugh too, but love, nomore for me.

This poem really touched my heart. Whilst my husband was undergoing treatment for terminal cancer we also lived, loved and laughed..Sadly he died, but those months were all the better for his optimism...I admire your first wifes outlook on life, and her courage. I imagine there is much life, love and laughter up above..!

Hugs, Diana

A beautiful tribute to Radiant Raya.

John: Have you ever read *God Calling*?
Here's an entry from last month:

February 19 - Endure

Do not forget to meet all your difficulties with love and laughter. Be assured that I am with you. Remember, remember it is the last few yards that tell. Do not fail Me. I cannot fail you. Rest in My love.

How many of the world's prayers have gone unanswered because My children who prayed did not endure to the end. They thought it was too late, and that they must act for themselves, that I was not going to act for them. Remember My words: "He that endureth to the end, the same shall be saved."

Can you endure to the end? If so, you shall be saved. But endure with courage, with Love and laughter. Oh! My children, is My training too hard?

For you, My children, I will unlock the secret treasures hidden from so many. Not one of your cries is unheard. I am with you indeed to aid you. Go through all I have said to you, and live in every detail as I have enjoined you. As you follow implicitly all I say, success -- spiritual, mental, and physical -- shall be yours. Wait in silence awhile, conscious of My presence, in which you must live to have rest unto your souls, and Power and Joy and Peace.

"And I will give thee the treasures of darkness, and
hidden riches of secret places, that thou mayest know that I,
the Lord, which call thee by thy name, and the God of Israel." Isaiah 45:3

Hi John, thought I would let you know that I stopped by to read this poem about your first wife. I am sorry that she could not live longer. It appears that she lived fully and enjoyed her short life. It sounds like her life left this world a better place for others. Thank you for sharing this special poem about her.

God Bless you.

Oh John, I am sorry for this. You make her proud by your undying profession of love. It never seems right when someone too young leaves us but God has a plan, he always does. Many blessings my friend. xxx

Grateful that she was blessed with a loving husband to help her in her life, and that she was loved and cared for. I know that her life has given purpose to yours, in that each day is received with knowing that it is precious, and time is given to us, and that this life is only for a short time,
thanks for sharing your thoughts, and words.

I know that your first wife's words may seem simple, yet "Live, Love, and Laugh" truly are the most meaningful words about life. Sometimes the words are a formula to get through the tough times, but other times those words may keep us on track so we don't get distracted or caught up in negativity. Although I did not know your first wife, it is obvious she looked for the silver lining in the clouds, or saw the day as "partly sunny" instead of partly cloudy. She sings in heaven now, but her words remain in your heart forever. Use her advice as you live each day. I am very sorry for the whole that is in your heart, but find solace in her memories and in the way she bravely fought cancer and the way she tried to stay strong during her darkest hours. God bless you, and I am so sorry for your loss.

I am so sorry for your loss John. But I also take comfort in knowing what you know; that she truly is in a better place and awaits the day when the two of you will once again be reunited. Very sad but well written poetic story here my friend and a beautiful tribute to a beautiful soul. God bless.
