Oh, what a celebration it was!
A gathering of writing's tools
Celebrating the gift, toasting
Creativity, and, of course,
There were the debates borne
In the egos of perceived importance.
Pen and Paper, Ink and Inspiration,
Rhyme and Reason, Words and Thoughts,
Poetry's spirit and Prose's no-nonsense attitude
Discussed, shared opinions, often disagreed.
And then... there was Muse
Who declared herself Mistress of Ceremonies.
All went well... even the debates...
UNTIL... yes until...
Pen was overheard
Asking Words to dance.
Muse was in a snit, stomped
And then pouted... Why?
Simply because she thought
Pen should have asked her first.
Ah, the temperament of the Muse...
What do we do with her?
What would we do without her?
And the debate goes on
While Pen and Words enjoy their dance
And we sit back and enjoy the show.
Behind this light delight there is a serious look at

Just great to read and enjoy, Myrna. Love it!
After that, I'm going to have to go ask Grammar if it was like that back in her day, before keyboards and computers, and even ballpoint pens when they put quill to parchment and always got it right… Right?
I enjoyed reading your well-written poem today. It's message was

verse was displayed very well into one's imagination.
Oh, my friend, this is classic. Absolutely wonderful to read and even better to read aloud. What a clever wordsmith you are. Drat! (I'm old enough to get by with saying that) Wish I'd come up with this idea, but then with my dark creeping around I'd not have treated it with the same respect I fear as did you. I loved it!
